DIY Cake Smash Photos for under 15$
My best friend's little princess is ONE! Brody is also going to be one soon, although I'm in total denial so we will just continue to pretend thats not going to happen... Anywho, my friend asked to borrow my camera to do her cake smash and y'all know i couldn't pass up an opportunity to get my friends together to jump around like circus monkeys to make baby Livy smile for the camera. I won't say that it was the easiest execution, mostly because we had several other children, husbands, etc to wrangle while trying to get set up before sunset. It was however incredibly cheap and with these quick tips, I am sure y'all can do your own if you want! I will still opt to have ours taken but might do a second one on my own just for fun!
We did it all for under 15$ and heres how:
1. THE CAKE: This little beauty was the perfect size and I thought it was gorgeous and was a whole 5 bucks at the local grocery story bakery.
2. THE BACKDROP: We started by searching our houses for things we already own, cute white stool, bring it. Gold ribbon, perfect. Plain pink wrapping paper for the background, awesome! We blew up two pink balloons which I don't know the exact price of but they were cheap and of course we strung gold letters on pink ribbon to spell ONE! We also bought the crown and the #1 cake topper. Super simple and you can search your house and probably own a bunch of items to use, you can do as much or as little as you want, even just plain white wrapping paper would be easy and fun! Get creative!
3. THE DETAILS: We used an entry level DSLR camera (the cannon rebel to be exact) so really nothing fancy, none of us have any photography experience and we are just a point and shoot kinda group. We were aiming for a ton of natural light but being that we are always running late, we were cutting it close. They still turned out pretty good for a group of amateurs!
