Is your baby sleeping through the night?
Alright friends, here is another hot topic: CO SLEEPING.
I know people feel strongly about this one so I will keep it short and sweet. I DID NOT co sleep with Carter and it really wasn't ever the intention with Brody. Nothing against co sleeping, it just wasn't what we had intended on. This review of the dock a tot might be a little different than most. I am not going to tell you that it made my baby sleep through the night but what I am going to tell you is that its keeping me alive. No, really. It is 100% keeping me from going absolutely insane with exhaustion.
Have you ever been there? The deep dark depths of endless sleepless nights? The kind of exhaustion where you would give your right and maybe left arm for just a few hours of uninterrupted sleep? That is me.
Carter took a bottle, so even though he wasn't the best sleeper, I could designate one feed to matt and guarentee myself like 4 solid hours. Brody is at that really cute stage where he likes to wake up every ninety minutes. YALL EVERY NINETY MINUTES. We started co sleeping and I can't say it helped at all, in fact, I was sleeping WORSE. My back was killing me from laying on my side all night, my nipples were sore from all night nursing (TMI??), and I never fell into a deep sleep because I was constantly worried about smothering him.
Enter Dock a Tot. The dock a tot is a multi functional lounger and co sleeper. It is breathable, all natural 100% cotton, and the perfect micro climate for babies and tots. Since Brody is almost 9 months we opted for the grande (grande is recommended for tots 9-36 months). It fits right in between us on the bed and Brody has a safe little sleeping environment, he isn't latched to nurse all night but he is still close enough to access for his wakes. GAME CHANGER. This has brought me back from the depths of exhaustion and allowed me to get enough sleep that I can drive a moving vehicle and be trusted to watch my kids all day without falling asleep. But, I will continue to blame any and all spelling errors/grammar mistakes on sleep deprivation ;)
I have a ton of mama friends who love their dock a tots and I can assure you that the hype behind this product is real. If I could go back in time, I would have started with this from day 1! I also have to mention I am obsessed with pjs and Finn + Emma does not disappoint. They are made with buttery soft, G.O.T.S. organic cotton and non toxic/eco friendly dyes!
So, if y'all are on the fence I hope my post gave you some insight into the magical powers of co sleeping and the dock a tot. If you don't yet have kids, I hope I didn't terrify you that my 9 month old still sleeps on a schedule worse than a newborn! I assure you he will be making it up to me when he buys me an ocean front penthouse for my retirement ;)
